Charlotte Edwards is based on “seeing improvement” from England and “does not care” after the World Cup began in late September.
India captain Hermanprit Kaur broke a century when India claimed England’s 13 -run victory to win the One Day International Series On Chester-L Street.
Net Saver Burnett and Emma Lamb led the recovery efforts for the hosts with a major partnership of 162 runs, and England captain shone before droping at 98.
In the final five overs, the hosts lost four wickets and Krant Good proved to be a bowlers with six scaleps when the hosts slipped to a 2-1 one-day series.
The focus is now turning to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup of 2025, which is running from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka.
Talk to Sky SportsEdwards acknowledged: “I knew that the team was less in confidence in the ashes and that was understandable. The team is really there. They are working hard. Like these things, it is not overnight.
“The media just thinks that this will happen. I am seeing improvement and I don’t really care what anyone else thinks. I am watching it because I’m working with these players, in the day, this is the most important thing.
“I’m not saying that we are a prepared article or we are going to win the World Cup, but we are hoping that one of the best teams in the world will be improved.”
He added: “We have some fine toning right now, we don’t have a million miles away. We have some world -class players.”
Dunal: England World Cup will not play this way
Analysts Charles Dunal was tightening in his review that he believes that England are following the defeat of their series to India.
He said, “I can’t tell you how far in the field of England. They are night and day than it, and anyone who has thoughts about winning the World Cup in England will not do what we have seen on the performances.”
“This is just the truth. They are not as good as India in the three departments and they are not as good as Australia because they are the first team in the world.
“It needs to resonate around the side and gain some confidence. It will not help, but England have exactly the best person to try and turn the rubber seal in Charlotte AdWords.
“She makes sense. I do not see any problems in batting, but what they have to do is in the field. They are carrying five or six fielders.”
