Election system reputation before state elections under Modi Raj

In India, the reputation of the electoral system has been endangered before the state elections under Narendra Modi’s rule.

The Modi government has completed preparations for organized fraud by implementing a new NRC in Bihar without law. Prior to the election, Modi’s patriotism has been specially reviewed in the Muslim -Majority State of Bihar.

The Modi government is planning to remove millions of people from the voter list by resorting to the government’s documentary, and contrary to the direction of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission of India has rejected the general identity documents.

According to the Indian newspaper The Wire, the Election Commission of India has claimed the right to take evidence of citizenship in the Supreme Court before the Bihar elections. According to the report, the Election Commission has refused to accept Aadhaar, voter ID and ration card as evidence of citizenship.

Despite the disagreement of the Election Commission, the Supreme Court has declared citizenship as the authority of the Interior Ministry. The wire report further states that according to the Supreme Court, the determination of citizenship is not the Election Commission of India, but the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry.

The Election Commission thinks that under Article 326 of the Constitution, only entry of eligible people and expulsion of non -qualified people is our constitutional responsibility.

The Modi government is preparing to target Muslim -mental areas in NRC style. Attempt to snatch the right to vote on the basis of citizenship is a setback for such a democratic process of India.

These measures under the leadership of the Modi government have raised questions about the neutrality of the electoral institute. For power, the BJP’s extremist agenda has rejected the requirements for transparent elections.

India, which claims to be the largest democracy of democracy globally, captures power by killing democratic rights of minorities. The action of the Election Commission of India is reflective of constitutional boundaries and unfair behavior to minorities.
