Today, India stands at an intersection, where deep questions are raised on its democratic and secular identity. Three different bloody stories are reflective of communal hatred spread under the organized ideology of different corners of the country, which is a reflection of social hatred. From West Bengal to Karnataka, minority, especially Muslim, systematic humiliation, violence and psychological torture are proof that this fire of hatred is no longer limited to political slogans, but has reached roads, homes and even innocent children schools.
The incident of Dargapur in West Bengal is an embarrassing example of this poisoning. Four Muslim cattle traders, legally buying 20 cows from the market market and all necessary documents were the goal of a staunch crowd on the basis of suspicion. Under the leadership of BJP members, the mob not only brutally beaten him, but also tied his hands to the parade and called him Bangladeshi and insulted his patriotism. All this happened at a distance of just 200 meters from the local police station, which indicates the helplessness or unrest of the law enforcement agencies. Local BJP leader Pujat Ganguly claims that he did not attack, but the locals were angry at the smuggling of cattle, openly admitting how political parties try to kill the mob by provoking violence. The arrest of only two people by the police is an insufficient step against the broad crime.
Similarly, an incident with Hakimuddin Sheikh and his family, a retired soldier of the Kargil war in Pune, opens the fort that loyalty in this country has now become a religion. The soldier who maintained his life on the palm for 16 years to protect the borders of the country was forced to prove his Indian citizenship in front of a crowd of more than 30 people. In the presence of the police, his house was attacked in the dark of night and threatened that if he could not prove his nationality, he would be declared Rohingya or Bangladesh. Hakimuddin Sheikh has a painful question that he fought for Kargil, he has been living there for decades, why is he being asked to prove his citizenship? Every Indian Muslim has a question whose loyalty is thin. This incident is not just harassment, but it is an insult to millions of people who have sacrificed for this country.
This hatred from hate reached its peak in Karnataka when a government school in Belagavi district was poisoned only because his headmaster was a Muslim, Suleman Ghori Naik. Like Shri Ram Seni, a right organization President Sagar Patil admitted that he could not tolerate a Muslim as the head of the school. The purpose of this disgusting conspiracy was to endanger the lives of 12 innocent children and intimidate the headmaster and damage their reputation. This incident is a proof that communal passion has now increased to such an extent that it does not refrain from renunciation for innocent children. Chief Minister Saddamia has done it a disgusting act of religious hatred and bigotry, but the question is whether it is just a condemnation?
These three incidents occurred in different states, but their main idea is to make Muslims a second -class citizen on the basis of their religious identity, to hurt, humiliate them and endanger their lives. At the same place, legal traders traders are called smugglers and Bangladesh, somewhere else, a soldier fighting for the country is to prove his citizenship, and the third places are tried to kill the children to remove a competent teacher from the office only because of their religion. These incidents are signs of deep illness that have injured the spirit of the Constitution. As long as the powers that conserve this disgusting ideology are restrained and the needs of justice are not met, India’s democracy and its future will be surrounded by dark shadows.
