Gilgit, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th July 2025) Torrent Rains and sudden floods wreaked havoc in Gilgit -Baltistan, destroyed more than 100 houses, official spokesperson Faizullah Farak waste. The spokesperson said that many areas incorporating Thor, Tangir, Denor, Babusus and Scarkoi have been separated from flush floods. With active support from Pakistan Army, Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts and other agencies, search, rescue and relief operations have been clarified.
While the Babusus-Naran road remains closed due to landslides and floods, the Curcorum Highway (KHH) is open to traffic. Another abandoned vehicle has been recovered from the debris in the Babusar area.
The government has confirmed that six people have lost their lives in floods, and their bodies have been retrieved.
Six injured persons have also been rescued and given medical treatment. More than 300 stranded tourists have been called back to Gilgit, Scardu and Chilas.
The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has directed the administration and concerned departments of all 14 districts to operate relief. Assistance distributors in the affected also gain momentum with the exploration of government and human organizations.
For the spokes, some tourists are being extracted through the Karakoram highway, which will also be deployed a C -130 aircraft in the collapse of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) emergency withdrawal.
