Dean Cain, the actor known for his role as a television superman throughout the 1990s, announced on Wednesday that he intended to enlist as an immigration and customs manager, just a few hours after the agency announced that it would give up age limits for new candidates.
ICE assistant secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, told CBS News that Cain would serve as a honorary ice officer in the coming month.
On Tuesday, Cain posted on social networks to announce career opportunities at Ice, saying that it “thought it was important to join our first stakeholders to help ensure the safety of all Americans, not just talking about it”. A day later, Cain appeared as a guest on “Jesse Waters Primetime”, where he told the host of Fox News that he had spoken to the ICE officials after Tuesday’s video has gained ground online and that he “will be sworn as an ice age as soon as possible.”
The declarations of the 59 -year -old actor occurred a month after the Trump administration increased incentives to the new ice officers, while the agency works to fill the 10,000 vacant positions created by a huge overvoltage of federal funding. Wednesday, the secretary of internal security, Kristi Noem, announced that the ice abandoned the age limits in his search for new candidates.

This decision is not the first foray into the application of laws for Cain, which played Superman and Clark Kent in the television program of the 1990s “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”. In 2019, Cain enlisted as a reserve officer at the Pocatello police department, a district in Brannock County, Idaho. The native of Michigan has also joined as a sworn sheriff deputy in the county of Frederick, Virginia.
Cain appeared in the television series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” from 1993 to 1997. He then returned to the DC universe in guest roles on the Subsequent Superman series, including “Smallville” and “Supergirl”. His latest television appearance was in “The Curse” by Showtime, alongside Emma Stone and Nathan Fielder.
The actor last month criticized the film “Superman” by James Gunn, which features David Corenswet as the steel man. Cain nicknamed the film “Woke” after Gunn described the character as “an immigrant who came from other places and populated the country”.
“I think it was James Gunn’s mistake to say that it is an immigrant thing,” Cain told TMZ in July. “I am rooted for it to be a success, but I don’t like this last political comment.”
Wednesday’s announcement was not Cain’s first collaboration with US immigration officials. In an episode of 1997 of “Laws & Clark”, entitled “Meet John Doe”, the Cain Superman is confronted with what was then known as an immigration and naturalization agent, who connects the Kryptonian and demands that he show his green card – but he cannot.
