Islamabad, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th July, 2025) In an impressive incident, the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday bid farewell to Justice Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, who kept the office robes as additional judges of the Supreme Court. The farewell lunch was hosted by Pakistan Chief Justice Justice Yahya Afridi, and was attached by all the Supreme Court judges.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice paid a shiny tribute to the judicial heritage and professional integrity of the two outgoing judges. He further said that last year alone, the highest added a total of 7,196 criminal cases. Of these, 2,220 cases were included by the bench by Justice Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, accounting for more than 30% of total settlement in this category. This unique achievement underlines his untiring efforts and extraordinary functions of morality, which has directed to reduce the pendency of criminal cases and envy justice quickly.
The Chief Justice highlighted that the two judges brought the bench combination of legal skills, royal judicial, and deep understanding of criminal jurisprudence. Their decisions will continue to guide the future interpretations of the law and serve as valuable predecessors for the legal community.
He further stated that dignified conduct, humble demonore, and commitment to constitutional values have earned their full earnings of their colleagues, bars and false people. His department marks the end of the era of remarkable judicial services, but his contribution will continue to inspire the institution. Ending his comments, the Chief Justice extended his most honest prayers and wished his health, happiness and continuous success in the next phase of life.
