Why it matters
Green said she fell from social media after “name, death threats, faceless accounts” in response to her remarks on Hogan.
Controversy started after Green, 34 years old, appeared on CBS News 24/7 Thursday, shortly after the news of WWE legend Hogan’s deathJuly 24, 2025, at 71 years old.
In the live interview, she praised her inheritance and thought about her positive personal experiences with him, while briefly noting her “polarizing political opinions”.
Hogan had been a vocal supporter of the president Donald Trump Before his death.
As indicated by Wrestling newsHer remarks, as well as the social media post now deleted, have aroused criticism from certain fans who estimated that she had minimized the most controversial parties in Hogan’s history, including the scandal of racism that led to its temporary WWE suspension in 2015.
As indicated by NowsweekIn July 2015, Hogan was suddenly withdrawn from all WWE and deleted programs on the company’s website after being revealed to have used racist insults in a private conversation. The scandal reappeared after Hogan’s death, reviving the debate on its complicated heritage.
The offensive remarks were revealed as part of an investigation into a disclosed sex tape which was at the heart of Hogan’s legal battle with Gawker Media. Hogan turned out to have used the word n several times and made racial comments on the life of his daughter.
WWE quickly ended its contract and published a statement reaffirming its commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Hogan then apologized, calling for his “unacceptable” language and declaring that it was “not who I am”.
His withdrawal marked a turning point for the commitment of the professional struggle with questions of racism and responsibility. As one of the most emblematic figures of sport, the fall of Hogan de Grace sent shock waves in the industry and has triggered wider conversations on the way in which entertainment companies manage unconsciousness involving high -level stars.
What to know
Green faced an intense reaction following her live television interview and her article on social networks in which she respectfully talked about the impact of the late professional struggle, while recognizing her controversial political history.
“Polarizing political opinions apart, it was an absolute icon,” said Green CBS News 24/7.
“If it was not for Hulk Hogan, we are many of us in the struggle industry that would absolutely not be there. He inspired a massive generation, it is therefore a loss that we feel deep in the wrestling community.
“I think all the babies of the 80s and 90s really grew up with Hulk like their idol in one way or another,” added Green later. “And I can’t imagine what his family feels right now, but it’s incredible to see the community – and not only the community of struggle, but the community – come together and honor an American icon.”
Green has echoed the same feeling in a follow -up tribute now removed shared on social networks, according to the Irish star.
“Aside from political opinions, Hulk Hogan’s influence on the world of struggle was clearly undeniable,” she wrote. “He inspired millions and has shaped a whole generation of fans, my husband included. We mourn the loss of an icon … A legend. My love goes to his family.”
Green was accused of minimizing Hogan’s past racism and not to condemn him adequately. In a declaration of follow-up on X, Green underlined his anti-racism position.
“An important part of my role at @Wwe involves getting involved with the public and answering questions, often on live platforms.
“Yesterday, I was asked to comment Hulk Hogan on live television. Allow me to be clear: my position on racism is unshakable. I do not tolerate it – a period.”
However, criticisms increased for personal attacks, insults and death threats of anonymous online accounts.
In an article on his X account on Saturday, Green said: “I tried to keep my positive and comic page, but today, many changed … And that struck stronger than what I expected. The name, death threats, faceless accounts.
“Social media was supposed to be a fun place and it hasn’t been for some time. It has been overwhelming and I have to go away a little.”
