A man visited Canada is recovered after be bitten by a shark Near Hollywood Beach, according to local authorities.
The Hollywood Fire Rescue Public Information Manager, Chai Kauffman, said that the man, in his forties, was on vacation with his family and friends when he was bitten while swimming in deep chest water.
The man reported having seen a fish jump over his head followed by a great splash – then realized that he had been bitten.
Quick response and surgery
Kauffman said that the man had managed to get out of the water and collapse on the sand, where beach lovers rushed to help.
The first stakeholders applied a tourniquet to the scene before transporting it to the regional Memorial hospital.
He has undergone surgery and is in a stable state and recovered well, according to Kauffman.
Mixed reactions of beach lovers
“I am normally worried that the underchers take me and paid attention to it, but now I will have to look for a fin above the water now, it is frightening,” said Alexandria Matty, who visited Hallandale Beach de Greensburg, Pennsylvania, with Madison Ritenour.
“The last day we were here, it was all the algae and all that, so it looks more pleasant but now I don’t know,” added Ritenour.
Local resident Charlie Dorin, however, said that waters do not worry him.
“I see a lot of sharks but they do not bother people. I saw them swimming through people, around people. I paddle board here all the time, I see sharks all the time and there has never been an attack,” said Dorin.
Shark survivors come together in West Palm Beach
In a separate event in West Palm Beach, Shark Cock Survivors brought together the medical teams of St. Mary’s Medical Center. Among them, Jeff Joel, who was bitten by a lemon shark, diving near Jupiter.
“I was trying to get him out and I did it – she fled but she also had me,” said Joel. “I dive with sharks, that’s what I have done for 20 years, and I also launch fish, and I have been surrounded by a dozen bull sharks and I never had a problem.”
