Brace for the northern region intentions for rain; NDMA recommends caution

Islamabad, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th July 2025) Monsoon rains and a fresh magic of landslides in Gilgit -Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Chitral Valley, a fresh magic of landslides, National Disaster Management Anthesmar (NDA) for the latest advisory.

In the anticmentation of the dangers of these weather-runners, the NDMA has strongly advised the residents in weak areas to be cautious, follow illegal non-encertle travel and stricly follow official guidance. For real-time erts and safety protocols, citizens are problems for using the “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert” mobile app and monitoring updates from NDMA and local administration channels.

NDMA’s National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) has issued flood alerts for several areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK, which create timely preparations between the bad weather.

NEOC is expected to rain in the Shigr areas of Gilgit, Scardu, Hunja, and Gilgit-Baltistan for rain, as well as in the period of forecast in Muzaffarabad, Neelam Valley, and Rebellion. These rains can cause floods, which can also trigger landslides in hilly areas.

In the Chitral Valley, Bani and Ratiun regions, the water flow of the river Chitral may occur as a result of the rains combined with melting glaciers. There is also urban floods due to a huge decline in Muzaffarabad and the garden.

The NDMA has directed all concerned departments and agencies to take active measures, to see the readiness of personnel, machinery and rescue teams and to be cautious to deal with any emergency.

Provincial Disaster Management Officers (PDMA) and local administration have been instructed to take timely preventive activities.
