In the Indian state of Bihar, the issue of revising the voter list under the controversial law “Special Intention Amendment (SIR)” has made a tremendous movement in the country’s politics.

The Indian Parliament continues protest against law, while the Congress and India alliance have indicated boycott of elections.

The Modi government is being accused of converting an important institution like Election Commission into political weapon instead of a neutral institution. The opposition claims that before the Bihar elections, minority voters are being planned for organized fraud, which is an open violation of Article 326 of the Indian Constitution. According to this article, every adult citizen has the same right to vote, which the present government is violating.

According to the wire, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the Election Commission and said that “The Election Commission is no longer looking for India, it is not doing its work.”

In the spring of the Congress, the charge Krishna Alwaro called the entire process “ruling” and said that the data released by the Election Commission was completely wrong. According to him, the entire process has been arranged to steal votes and elections, and it is not only the problem of Bihar, but a dangerous trend of the entire country.

According to the Election Commission report, 60.1 lakh voters have been declared dead, transferred or double registration, which are being expressed in serious concerns. According to The Wire, BJP officials and booth level officials are making changes in the voter list at some places.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has called the boycott of the assembly elections a “open option”, while the Deputy Leader Lok Sabha Guru Gogoi says that the silence of the government is proof of people taking votes.

Intentional removal of minority voters from the list is being described as a clear violation of democratic principles. Critics say that after NRC and CAA, the SIR policy is actually another attempt to target minority citizenship.

Political observers believe that the Modi government is following India to convert India into an extremist state under a Hindutva ideology, which is affecting not only Bihar but across the country.
