Best compact strollers 2025: Mom tests 13 models

As a mother of two children – aged 3.5 and 9 months – with a third baby surprise on the way, I brought the full panic mode to the management of outings with three children in trailer. I’m not just talking about family holidays. I mean shopping, station trips or dragging everyone to the pediatrician without losing my head (or a shoe).

So I took matters into my own hands. I tested more than 10 compact strollers that promise to facilitate the life of parents like me. I folded, displeased, wrapped trunks, I walked the dog, jogged city blocks and yes, juggled on a baby while collapsing a stroller with a hand. Here are those who have really delivered.

How I tested each stroller

Each stroller has gone through the same real criteria:

  • Ease of folding: Can I decompose it quickly, ideally with one hand?
  • Compactness: Would this be integrated into my car trunk or my coat closet?
  • Wheel performance: How did it manage the sidewalks, the grass or the store of the aisles?
  • Weight and maneuverability: Can I lift it by holding a baby or directing it with one hand?
  • The conviviality of the newborn in the tododer: Would that work from the first day to the little one?

The best compact strollers of 2025

The Bugaboo Butterfly 2 has become my choice for city races and weekend outings. It folds with one hand (a life buoy when you hold a baby and you dispute equipment for toddlers), easily integrates into my trunk and has a large enough basket for my diaper bag and oversized snacks. The extended hood provides a real shade, not just a strip of fabric, and the Peekaboo window allows me to check the baby without disturbing the nap time. It is smooth, carefully designed and easy to love – but it is definitely more expensive.

This modern stroller includes the mission. The fold of two seconds with a hand integrates into plane trays, which is a dream during the juggling of travel equipment. My 9-month naps easily thanks to the dew and the canopy in several positions, while the adjusted rest of the calf works well for my toddler. The journey is smooth and the deep storage basket carries everything I need. However, the brake is a little too easy to accidentally trigger with longer legs, and it is not ready for newborn, unless you buy the cradle separately.

A favorite among the new parents for a reason, the Doona goes from the car seat to the stroller in a few seconds. It’s a change of game, especially when your baby falls asleep in the car and you don’t want to wake them up. It is also a space saving for elevators and tight restaurants. That said, it is heavy and has a short shelf life – once your baby has exceeded the infant scene, it’s done.

This has earned the rare approval of approval of my husband. With a height adjustable handle, we can both push comfortably. The seat bows completely and grows with your child without needing inserts. The magnetic loop feels secure and prevents accidental pinching. Although the design is elegant and driving is robust, folding, it takes a certain practice and it is too large for plane trips.

If you are a frequent leaflet, it is for you. The jet 5 folds in the shape of a suitcase and is held alone, perfect for the verification of the doors or the cake in air bins. My baby takes naps in the lie of lie and the generous canopy helps sleep on the go. It is elegant, light and feels luxurious, although storage is minimal and complementary accessories such as snack plates and rain cover cost more.

From the newborn to the little one, the Silver Cross Jet 5 easily welcomes your car seat with a practical attachment-perfect for families on the go.

This choice under the radar was a pleasant surprise. It is incredibly light but always stable on the gravel and the sidewalks. I was impressed by the security of my 9 -month -old child in the seat. It opens and closes easily, which makes shopping faster. The brand is less known and the details can be rare, and although it is ideal for babies, this will not work for my toddler due to weight limits.

This looks like the luxury sedan of compact strollers. It slides gently, folds easily and includes reflected characteristics such as a Peekaboo canopy and an adjustable rest. My toddler and my baby are both comfortable, and high-end finishes give it worth it. However, it is heavier than the other models and lifts it while making a baby makes efforts.

Perfect for families with two children of stroller age. The narrow frame corresponds to standard doors and the fold is fast and easy. The two seats bow independently and the awnings offer solid coverage. The biggest drawback? There is no way to add a third seat or a board once the baby number three arrives.

My most vocal stroller. It was in Europe, Florida and return. It folds into a flash, is part of plane bins and easily manages the spaces of the city. I love the fact that he goes from the Bassinet to the newborn at the headquarters for the toddler and can connect with another Yoyo for a double configuration. But between limited storage, smaller canopy and the high price (especially with accessories), it is definitely an investment.

If you want a double stroller without pushing a tank, that’s all. Each seat has a lot of space and cover, and driving is more fluid than expected, even on unequal soil. I can install two diaper bags in the subcontracting. The drawback? The fold requires both hands, and it is too large for plane trips or tight entries.

This is your “Keep it in the trunk” stroller. It falls back to almost nothing and is perfect for quick races or travel. He can manage a baby and even a toddler for short rides, and he is compatible with the car seat. Do not expect it to overcome the cobblestones or you hold long walks.

This 13 pound stroller is surprisingly durable. It folds with one hand, the canopy provides a solid shade and the magnetic harness makes the burning fast and painless. The leather accents give it a high -end feeling without the high -end price. For outings all day long, however, I would recommend adding a seat lining for additional comfort and preparing a slightly more involved cleaning routine.

Think of the SUV in the form of a stroller. The Guava Roam has a three -wheeled design with extra -cave tires (14 -inch rear, a 12 -inch front) that manage the bumps, unequal sidewalks and effortless grass – it is ideal for joggers or anyone constantly in motion. The padded seat is comfortable for my baby, even long days, and deep storage means that I don’t need to transport an additional bag.

NBC Select Tech Reporter Harry Rabinowitz also tested this stroller, and he found that he perfectly met his need for a stroller that flows compactly with small doors and vestibules. “Although I have not tested as many strollers as Becca, the Roam was the only stroller that checked all my boxes: safe for the race and daily use, a compact fold, a handful of transport with a hand and a large storage of sub-soirs,” he said. “Now, I can’t imagine my routine without it.”

The brake can be difficult to engage and the stroller is too large to be friendly.
