Even thought that you can detect plans for Labor Day Weekend, American Airlines is already thinking that you would like to fly in the next summer.

Fort Worth-based carrier announced a significant long expansion for 2026 in summer, including the airline “new” routes.

The truth is that just one of the six routes is technically “new”, but still, it is exciting for the American Flex to see long-lasting muscles beyond the trans-translateic destinations such as London and Paris.

Updating the map: the most exciting new airline route of 2025 (so far)

You will get all the details.

1 new transatlantic flight

American’s only true “new” flight will combine the Dallas-Offer Metro, with Athens, Greece, began on May 21, 2026.

By the next summer, the American Athens International Airport (AT) will fly with a houing five uses, most of us airline.

To see how this new route performs, it includes the longest and farthest west of other American gateway cities for Athens, including Charlotte, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. But Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the largest hub, so it is possible that this new route can actually take some time that can remove traffic from some of its flights to Athens.

Nevertheless, Greece remains a popular destination for Americans, so the airline is likely to win for a lot of difficulty in filling 234 seats.

5 launching long -lasting routes

The other five routes making US announcements on Thursday have been operated in the past. they include:

  • The service is going on from DFW to Aziza International Airport (EJE), May 21 to August in Buenos Aires. 3
  • DFW to Zurich Airport (ZRH), service is going on from May 21 to August. 4
  • Milan Malpencesa Airport (MXP) from Miami International Airport (MIA), service starting from 29 March
  • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Bustank Listed International Airport (Bud), Summer Seasonal Service starts from May 21
  • From May 21 from Phil to Vlak Havel Airport Prague (PRG), Summer Seasonal Service

Deal Hunting: When is the best time to book flights for the cheapest aircraft fare?

Two DFW flights are designed for “global football fans” according to American. Reading between lines, the airline is targeting fans for the FIFA World Cup, of which nine games will be in Dallas in the next summer.

American flew from DFW to ZRH in 2007, and it flew from DFW to Eze in winter.

Meanwhile, the airline last flying from MIA to MXP in 2020, but it dropped the flight at the beginning of the epidemic. The service complements the recently launched flight for Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci Airport (FCO), which is already closed before this summer.

Finally, Bud and PRG routes were last flown in winter seasons of 2018 and 2019. They have not returned since the epidemic, and this time the airline will deploy Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on both services.

While American passengers may be preferred to more trorley “new” routes for the next summer, the airline’s network Chaif Brian Zonotins told me that “We are no longer for 2019 in 2019 … through the list of we tried in 2019, through the list of what we tried in 2019, and these are not the first things we try in 2026.”

Instead, he looks towards the demand for the market, and it is pointing to bookpaste and Prague. “We look at our web discoveries on AA.com and on the top five destinations (people who find, but people come to AA.com and discover Prague and Budapest,” they explained.

The American John F will compete with Delta’s nonstop service from the Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Pro, and will enjoy the monopoly on American service to Budest. The last carrier on the route was very polish airlines, which left the market in 2022.

Of course, it assumes that Delta or United won American Match American plans to fly to Budapest – something possible that we do not intend to expand the next summer to two other “Big Three” airlines.

Upgagging to Tokyo

The American also has some reports for transpiresphic flyers: Airline will increase its service in Tokyo with more premium aircraft in the next summer. This includes Boeing 777–300er on the route from Dallas to Tokyo, and 777-200 from Los Angles to Tokyo.

Both these flights are currently powered by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, and in summer, compared to 2025, the American will invest more than 45%premium sitting these days.

Note that the airline is not planning to fly. It will be primarily deployed in London, accounting for Znotins.

Ground level

American’s upcoming long -lasting routes for the next summer are certainly exciting, seriously seriously. They include some other secondary European cities such as Budapest and Prague.

It is very good to give more nonstop options to passengers, but since two routes will be operated from PHL, the plan of flyers will still need to be connected to achieve these flights. (The operation of routes from New York In -Innovated Wounds provides a large catchment area to fill these nonstops.)

Neverhalasses, I explain that connecting to Phili is more connected to London or Madrid, which currently needs American passengers to achieve these destinations.

Znotins also wrote it as part of the airline’s network strategy as it relates to the transatlantic joint venture in which it participates in British Airways, Iberia and Finier. “Our way

Everyone said, American’s summer 2026 shedule is the same. This is not a major expansion such as we have seen from United (and low exchange, delta) for years. Instead, the expansion feels that the American Saif is taking bets – that is the one I hope to probaline the next year to the United and Delta.

But in the era of American, new long -lasting routes are included in more top European cities, which is far away in distribution. It is thanks to the upcoming delivery of Airbus A321xLR jets, the first of which is expected to fly to American later this year.

“We guess that there is a big21xlr pride in 2027.
