Lisa Ashton claimed a shock to Betfraved Women’s World Match play after avoiding 11 -match darts to beat Fallon Sherik in the final leg thriller in Blackpool.
The fifth seed watched Ireland’s Rubin Bourne in his quarter -finals and then threw the back -to -back champion Beau Gravis in the semi -finals before coming to the thrilling match against Sherik to win the event for the first time.
Ashton opened with 85 finish in the opening leg and added 15 dart breaks to capture the initial control of a tough competition, only to provide the Sheric for 13 dart holds for a three -legged race.
