A claim on social media is becoming increasingly viral, stating that unmanned items can be purchased for only Rs 560 at Islamabad International Airport for six months, provided people should register on the link provided online.
However, the investigation of the facts has shown that the claim is completely incorrect.
This claim was first called “Airport Enaction/ISB” on the Facebook page on 20 June. The post states that dozens of suits of cases at the airport are left at the airport without any claim and if no claims are made for six months, these bags can be given to the public only Rs 560 per bag.
Along with this, people were also invited to register on a website. This post is also moving in various WhatsApp groups.
But during the fact investigation, it is revealed that the claim of selling missing goods at the airport is fake and the authority has formally rejected the claim. In this regard, a post called “fake news alert” was also released on the official Facebook page of the Authority of Pakistan Airport, stating that the information about the sale of missing goods at Islamabad International Airport was grossly wrong and misleading on social media.
The airport administration has not introduced any such policy, and the claim to be aired on social media is incorrect. Apart from this, the website given in this post is also unable to open.
Therefore, it has become clear that the news of selling the devalled goods at Islamabad International Airport for Rs 560 is baseless and misleading, and the administration of the airport has appealed to the public to avoid believing such false claims.
