Luke Liller came down to 7-2 and won a surprising six legs when he won a 13-11 tie-break victory against the German Watmeena to replace the World Match play darts’ quarter-finals in Blackpool.
It was the fifth meeting between the pair that won all four of his matches with the Rajang World Champion, and, somehow, he came to the line on his favorite D10 to break the Watimina’s throw and improve the statistics by 5-0 in his favor.
The Watimina torn the script in the inaugural session of the collision, before the Littler Top could retreat, took 100 out before taking out the 100 and getting a leg on the board.
Dutchman was not there and he found another three-legged torn on the spin to move 7-2, he got seven legs in a nine-digit which was unable to respond.
“Get calm, I’m still here!” What were the words of Liller when he broke the throw to bring the score to 7-3 and he was definitely when he moved the memorable six legs from five consecutive back to 8-7.
However, the Watimina continued to fight and when it managed to reach the score 10-10 and the tie break started, the drama reached the pitch of fever, one of which had to win with two clear legs.
Liller held his throw twice and with the nerve wild, he had the opportunity to win, he tied his favorite double and left the stress on his shirt and pointed to the star to show that he was a world champion.
“I am a world champion for one reason, when I need it, I get these gears,” said Liller. Sky Sports.
“I have not felt like this since the first round of the World Championship.
“A little panic but the crowd was incredible and it is here in my third game and I have won two of them.
“I want to go back to stage and now I can’t wait to stay in the quarter -finals.”
