Neutrals are important colors in interior design, even if you are ready for bold colors. And there is a lot to navigate for neutral paint color selection.
I wanted to share some of the best neutral paint colors used in my homes, why am I ready for them, and I think they bring them to a room. In the list below, I am incorporating four different colors: white, cream, light pink (which visually reads as neutral), and black.
If you are deciding on a neutral paint color for your home, I hope this post acts as a useful resource for you. This is also a great post to bookmark for your future design projects!
Here are the best neutral paint colors used in my homes …
1. White pigeon by Benjamin Moore

Where I have used this color: The basement family room in our current house and the main floor in our previous house.
It is a crisp white that does not feel sterile. It is a warm color, but because it does not have a lot of yellow tones, it does not read as cream. Since the trends of the design are moving towards warm colors, it is a great classic white paint color to use.
2. Pal -cloth by benjamin Moore
Where I have used this color: Basement family room in our current house.
If you are looking for a light neutral color, with a slightly more visible weight, the sail cloth may be color for you. It is a warm color that is a step more creamy than a white pigeon. If you want to highlight the opposite between two neutrals, you can combine the sail’s clothes and white pigeons together like I did in our basement family room.
3. Set plaster by firo and ball
Where I have used this color: Trim in both the entrance and guest room in our current house.
Plaster set is a great color to use if you want a step beyond white or cream which is not Very Saturated. While it is light pink, it still reads as a neutral color and is a versatile option for so many types of rooms.
4. Iron iron by benjamin Moore

Where I have used this color: Cabinetry in the kitchen of our previous house.
It is a beautiful black-gray color that brings depth without heavy to a whole room. Sometimes, sometimes a really dark black feeling may feel that it dominates every other design feature in a space. Iron iron has a tenderness that I really love.
