Embrace the high and climbing of a small service business

The Lets: What Does comes with the field

  • Emotional load:
When you are the owner of the business, you lift weight. Every customer problem, every shock, it lands on your shoulders. But what I have learned is that when you care, it is sometimes considered heavy. This means that you are correcting it. If it was so easy … you know the saying, “Everyone will do it”. These are some real service professional challenges that do not always make it on the surface.

  • Relationship stress:
Birthdays, holidays, family dinner, moments of anniversary have been remembered because the business needed to pay attention. This is a difficult business. We believe and fight for work-life balance in small business, but we walk again on the way to the house due to traffic and time limit that demands business.

I have learned to be more intentional about finding a balance, but it is still a daily practice that is sometimes weekly, sometimes quarterly.

  • Financial uncertainty:
They have ups and downs in service businesses, and this stress does not remain in the office. This can follow your home, affect your sleep, and even challenge the strongest relationships.

The Balancing Act: People first, always

  • Celebrate each other:
This year, I have been reminded that people around us have everything. My parents’ 60-year-old milestone, deep friendship for decades, and the loyalty of my own team (which is one of our basic values), all have shown me that love and support are true corners of any permanent success.

  • Communicate and connect:
Whether it is a client, friend, or a team member, communication is important. Tell people that they matter. Be transparent. Listen more. Ask how he or his family is doing. It does make a difference.

  • Make room for life:
Can work, but we can choose to make space for bliss, for comfort, for those who give meaning to our lives. This is the place where the real success lies. It can only take some patience.

After 29 years, I know a lot: running a small service business is made on human connection. On the customers who trust you, on the employees who show for you, friends and family who believe in you, when you get tired. It is in the tears shared after a long week, the neck after a big win, laughed in the middle.

This business was never about the service that has always been about people. I would not have made it without them, and I take that gratitude every day.

Here the next chapter is Big 30 next year to take care of the heart with a big reputation for a small business, and with those who matters the most.
