The US Special Advice Bureau confirmed on Saturday that it had opened an investigation into former special lawyer Jack Smith and if he had raped Hatch law by his criminal investigations into President Donald Trump.
The survey follows a reference by the republican senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas earlier this week which asked the CSO to investigate Smith for his investigation and prosecution activities before the 2024 elections which argued that Cotton was intended to harm the political prospects of Trump.

Smith and former Attorney General Merrick Garland both supported several times before the departure of his duties that none of the actions taken in the survey on classified documents or the survey of Trump’s efforts to overthrow his electoral loss of 2020 was motivated by politics.
Trump pleaded not guilty and denied all the reprehensible acts in both cases.
A Smith lawyer spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comments on the OSC survey on Saturday. Smith’s affairs against Trump were rejected as a result of the 2024 elections due to a long -standing policy of the Ministry of Justice prohibiting the pursuit of an in -office.
The OSC is an independent agency which is not empowered to investigate criminal issues – it is distinct from the special council post that Smith served in the Ministry of Justice.
OSC operates mainly as an agency to help government denunciators report allegations of reprehensible waste or acts, and also applies the Act respecting the trap which places the restrictions of government employees to engage in partisan political activities.

We do not know what line of conduct the CSO should even take against Smith if his investigation determined that he had violated the Hatch law, since Smith is no longer an employee of the government.
Although he could refer his conclusions to the DoJ, the ministry has already publicly declared that he was investigating Smith and other prosecutors who continued Trump through his so-called “arms working group” which is led by the former acting prosecutor of DC US Ed Martin.

The announcement of the investigation also occurs while the administration was found under a meticulous examination on its management of the publication of documents relating to the deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein – senior officials of the whole administration seeming to change the subject.
