This week, Dallas Cowboys realized that they needed additional depth. Therefore, they brought an old friend to train to see if he still has it.
A day later, the cowboys officially signed. The team announced the addition of La’el Collins.
According to the Cowboys writer Tommy Yarrish, the agreement is expected to be completed on Saturday. Cowboys will have to make a final decision on a corresponding list movement in order to make room for the 32 -year -old line player.
Collins is an old LSU product. He frequented the school from 2011 to 2014. When he entered the NFL 2015 NFL, the Collins stock took a hit for non-football reasons.
Although it was largely considered a first -round talent, Collins ended up referring. There were suggestions that he could sit if he had been drafted late. Despite this, the cowboys have concluded an agreement to bring Collins as a free agent not drafted.

It was a bet that surely paid for Dallas. Collins would play six seasons with the cowboys. In 2019, he obtained a five -year contract, which was worth $ 50 million. Although Collins was to be on the list until the previous season, he was released much earlier.
In 2022, Collins was a sales candidate in Dallas. In the same month, Cowboys opened phones for his services, the offensive line player ended up freeing himself with three other seasons in his agreement.
Shortly after, Collins signed a three -year agreement with the Bengals of Cincinnati. Immediately, he started to face a back injury, which persisted throughout his first season at Bengals. At the end of the year, he suffered a torn LCA. Collins would not play in the following season because he had to continue to rehabilitate himself. Finally, the Bengals gave it up.
The Cowboys brought Collins to the training team in January 2024. At the end of the season, Collins was to become a free agent. Although the Buffalo Bills tried it last year, Collins did not make the final cuts. He sat for the whole 2024 NFL season.
This summer, Collins will have another chance with the cowboys. Familiarity within the organization should help, in particular with Dak Prescott still in the building, but nothing is guaranteed. For the moment, Collins has a lot to prove with several players who treat reverses.
