A shooter opened fire on two Ohio police officers as he had lunch in his patrol vehicles on Wednesday, injuring them both, the authorities announced.
A third officer who responded to the scene was also injured in the shooting, which the police described as a “ambush situation”.
The suspect had parked in an impasse of an unlikely industrial park in Lorain, located in the northeast of Ohio, and had an “arsenal of arms with him,” Lorain’s acting police chief said on Wednesday during a press briefing on Wednesday.

“He was lying down and opened fire with several laps in the two officers sitting in their vehicles,” said failure.
The shooting took place around 1 p.m., after the two police officers picked up a pizza for lunch and parked side by side, said failure. The suspect had parked in the stage, he said.
One of the police underwent several ball injuries and was transported by plane to a hospital where he is being treatment, said failure. The other officer was shot in hand and is treated in a hospital, he said.
The third officer, who responded to a call to additional officers, was shot down several times in his patrol vehicle, said failure. He was also transported by plane to hospital for medical treatment, he said.
The police turned fire to the suspect, who was armed with a “high power rifle”, according to Elyria police chief James Welsh, who spoke during a separate briefing.
The suspect, described as a 28 -year -old man, was killed on the scene and pronounced dead, failed.
Police did not release the name of the suspect.

Welsh said that no other suspect had been located and that they are “quite confident” that there was only one shooter. The area has been contained, he said.
The Elyria police service is investing in the incident.
A pattern is not known for the moment, said Welsh.
“It’s a difficult day for the Lorain police service and the police community,” said Welsh.
“It will take time to determine exactly what happened here today,” he said.
Ohio governor Mike Dewine said he was informed of the shooting, saying that he “seems to have been a targeted attack on the police.”
“This situation reminds us that those who work in the application of the law risks their life for the security of their communities every day,” he said in a statement on social networks. “We are very grateful to men and women who serve and gladly protected.”
Senator of Ohio, Jon Husted, said that his office had provided assistance to local officials.
“There is no room for this kind of violence in our state or our country,” he said in a statement on social networks.
